We are a small family-owned and operated ranch in Ukiah California. We breed Registered Quarter Horses and Katahdin Hair Sheep. For those of you not familiar with Ukiah, it is located approximately two and a half hours Northwest of San Francisco by car.

At Finley's Mountain Ranch, we believe that quality offspring are not based on Stallions alone. Consequently, we have worked hard to put a nice little band of quarter horse mares together to complete the package. Our mare's outstanding bloodlines can be seen on the Horses page.

We concentrate on breeding quarter horses for correct conformation, kind and trainable dispositions, performance ability, versatility and color. In all cases our philosophy is to breed for quality, not quantity.

Since 2009 we have been breeding Katahdin hair sheep. Our breeding program includes genetics from all over the United States. In July 2012 we brought 11 sheep back from Country Oak Ranch in Louisiana. We visited Mark Dennis of Country Oak Ranch twice in 2012 once in early April and then in July to make our final choices. This was a two year process. Because of the distance and the amount of Katahdin sheep involved, Mark put together a nice group of sheep with excellent weight gains, hair coat and conformation to choose from. We brought back four different blood lines rams to add to our existing genetics.
